My first Initial sketches. I had two lighting scenarios in mind utilizing the same composition. I ultimately went with the "lighter" one since I havent completed many images in that light, most of my illustrations are more dramatic in tone.

My next phase came to actually designing the color pallet. I used a gamut mapping technique to limit my pallet. From there I created my color strings expanding upon it.

I needed to pull out all available resources to ensure proper quality in the final image. I took photography reference, posed free daz3d models, and referenced classical paintings.

This was about 50% through. I mostly photobashed the backdrop. Then I roughly blocked out the colors of the character.
